How would a functionalist look at Institutional Discrimination ?

they see it as a way of bringing people together. for example if someone is discriminated and then once people find out, they all react negatively against it and most of the people will have the same view about it therefore people come together with they consensus view. they would also see discrimination as allowing change and they believe change is healthy. it will bring change as new laws may come out.
