Will i have to do convoys in a humvee or foot patrols?

if i sign up for m1 crew member will i have to do convoys in a humvee or do patrols around a town on foot or will i just do tank convoys and tank patrols i ask this not because im scared of fighting but i have heard and seen too much on what an IED does to an humvee and would hate to be in one of those since it is weekly armored against blast unlike armored vehicles like abrams, strykers or bradleys
