Why is america helping the conflict in isreal?

i dont wanna offend anyone, but today there was an airstrike on the arabic parts of isreal.And i have to ask, why, why is the us and uk supplying m weaponry to them.I wish that Isreal and palesine can make peace and form one country where muslims and jews can finally like each other again.But why is the US against that!
