Is a day also represented by the earth moving 1 degree around the sun?

I read in Joseph Campell's Primitive mythology that to the ancient sumerians had a 365 day calender, 360 days represented the cirference of a circle. The extra 5 days were days used for feasts and rituals. The five was sacred to them because the four sides of the ziggurats would meet at the summit, making the fifth point, where it was believed that the energies of heaven would be joined with the energies of earth. This made me wonder if in the period of one day the earth also moves one degree around the Sun.
